Space: the Year in Review

A summary of the significant events around the world in space exploration, featuring a slide presentation by CSSS President Larry Boyle.

This was a free event sponsored by the Chicago Society for Space Studies. The meeting was held in Classroom A, located just inside the south entrance to the museum.

In addition to the presentation, there were door prizes and some give-a-ways.

At the Adler Planetarium, Chicago

Volunteers from the Chicago area chapters of the National Space Society were at the Adler Planetarium providing a variety of educational presentations for the public. In addition to the presentations, there were make and take activities for children and a space information table. Presentations given were:

  • Mars in 3-D
  • Space Suit Demo
  • Toys in Space
  • Spirit and Opportunity - The Mars Exploration Rovers
  • Apollo 11

Space Day at the
Museum of Science and Industry

Saturday December 8, 2001
from 10:00am to 4:00pm
at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago IL

A special day of space and robot related activities was held at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. This event was held in conjunction with the Space Age Robots exhibit.

The day's activities included:

  •   Talks
  •   Demonstrations
  •   A Rocket Make-n-Take for the Kids

Volunteers at the National Space Society information table were on hand to answer questions about our future in space!
